Hugh James PIP Breast Implants History

Hugh James solicitors are representing over 225 women with implants manufactured by Poly Implant Prothese (PIP).

On the 31st March 2010 the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) released a Medical Device Alert in relation to all silicone gel filled breast implants manufactured by PIP, recalling all devices to the UK supplier.

It has been confirmed by the French medical device regulatory authority (AFSSAPS) that there may be a higher rate of rupture in PIP breast implants. The MHRA have however confirmed that the gel itself is not toxic, a health risk.
Hugh James Solicitors are advising all ladies with PIP implants to seek medical advice as soon as possible.

For information on joining the group represented by Hugh James please contact Mark Harvey on 029 2039 1174.

  1. All should be educated about these advisories to prevent harm from happening to them. Procedures like these have pros and cons that should always be considered.

  3. Beauty is amazing, there is always concern for both the beautiful and un-beautiful alike, attaining and maintaining a consistent level for most of us. Most of us end up doing the best with what we have; we are free to be comfortable in our bodies and grow old gracefully.

  4. Men have had implants too - for example testes. When did PIP start making these?

  5. How do we know if we have these implants? I had my implants done in April 2000, the hospital is no longer there and I have no paperwork? Lisa

  7. This is a very serious health concern, as this can cause an inflammatory reaction in their breast. The people affected would do best to consult a doctor right away to know what actions must be taken. And, keep your medical records for proof that PIP silicone was used for your breast implantation.
